The Arts
The Historical Holly Theater offers a variety of stage performances featuring drama and musicals. Since it is a community theater there are many opportunities to participate in a production. Try outs for speaking or musical parts are announced throughout the year. Set designers, costume designers, stage hands, ushers, and concession workers are also needed.

The Dahlonega Arts Council is located in the Old Cannery building near the county courthouse. Membership is made up of local artists and other people interested in supporting the fine arts. Sculptors, weavers, potters, painters, photographers and more are represented. More artists are relocating to the area each year.
The Cannery Building houses exhibits of work by local artist throughout the year.

A new group called the Green Mountain Theater Company is planning on offering some local productions and looking for playwrights, actors, etc. The also have the Village Idiot Players. Contact foygreenwood@yahoo.com.
A favorite local gallery is located in a renovated chicken house and is aptly named the Funky Chicken. Besides unique art it also has a scupture/peace garden in the back. Visit Funky Chicken for more information.
