Dahlonega Featured In US News and World Report

Dahlonega was featured in US News and World Report Magazine as a great place to live and retire. A retired banker from California was mentioned and cites the reasons he decided to locate to Dahlonega. He mentioned the real estate bargains as one reason he and his wife moved. Also mentioned was "When retirees aren't bird-watching, horseback riding, or canoeing, they can attend classes at North Georgia College and State University free of charge, tour any of the five local wineries, attend a movie or performance at the historic Holly Theatre, or even pan for gold and keep what they find."

When we lived in Colorado we noticed that Californians were moving to Colorado as well. We know of others from the west coast that have relocated to Dahlonega.

I guess Dahlonega is not just for southerners any more. A progressive change is in the air.
