Don't Ask-Don't Tell in the Military, Program This Sunday

The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in the military towards Gays is becoming a major issue. One area is the shortage of qualified linguists in the military who speak foreign languages such as Farsi and Arabic. Many have been fired by the military after being trained in the military sponsored language schools. Now the State Department is talking about hiring them back since they do not have a "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy towards gay employees. Congress appears to be the only group that can repeal this policy in the military. There is legislation on the hill being proposed.

This Sunday 3/4/2007 The Georgia Mountains Unitarian Universalist Church is having a guest speaker at their 11 am service that will address this issue in the military. For more information on this ervice call 706-864-0661 or visit http://www.gmuuc.org.
